Microsoft has just announced the Surface Go. With a screen size of 10 inches, a weight of 1.15lbs (0.52kg), and a price tag of $399, it’s the most portable and affordable Surface product the company has made.

The display of the Surface Go is a high-res PixelSense display that’s supports the Surface Pen with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, low pen parallax, low latency, and precision (great for precise photo-editing).

“The custom calibrated 3:2 display is soft on your eyes while you’re working and vibrantly high-contrast when you want to watch videos, create art, or edit photos,” Microsoft says.

Inside the Surface Go is a 7th gen Intel Pentium Gold Processor 4415Y, a fanless design, and a battery that provides 9 hours of juice on a charge.

“Our team worked closely with Intel to optimize power, performance, and battery for the most critical tasks people perform every day,” Microsoft says.

The new Surface Go Signature Type Cover has ergonomic key pitch, “exceptional” key travel, high-precision tuning, a Windows Precision Trackpad that supports 5-point multi-finger gestures.

Microsoft has also announced a new Surface Mobile Mouse that can be connected to the Surface Go via Bluetooth (i.e. no dongle is needed).

Other specs and features include a built-in kickstand (that extends to 165 degrees), a Windows Hello camera, a Surface Connect port (for charging and docking), a USB-C 3.1 port (for data, video, and charging), a headphone jack, and a MicroSD card reader (for storage expansion).

The Microsoft Surface Go will be available starting August 2nd, 2018 with a price tag of $399. An LTE model will be launching later in 2018. The Surface Mobile Mouse will cost $35. Pre-orders for both devices begin today.
